Since it was founded in Chapel Hill in 1972, Great Outdoor Provision Co. has been gearing up for life outside. With nine stores throughout North Carolina and Virginia, they are committed to equipping you for your next big adventure.



Mast General Store

The Original Mast General Store opened in 1883 in the rural community of Valle Crucis, North Carolina. Storekeepers tried to have everything the community needed... from cradles to caskets. Downtowns in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee, the same friendly and knowledgeable service that welcomed neighbors in Valle Crucis can be found in all of their communities. As a general store, Mast Store offers a variety of goods from fashion to fried chicken cookbooks and toffee to tents.



Friends of State Parks

Friends of State Parks is a nonprofit citizen organization supporting, promoting and advocating for the North Carolina State Park system as a whole. It exercises its private sector nonprofit abilities to add value to the state parks system in areas where government action may be restricted.



Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (BCBSNC) continues their long-term commitment to improving the health and well-being of their customers and communities. BCBSNC has teamed up with North Carolina State Parks and other hiking experts to create a new initiative (Hike NC!) to make enjoying North Carolina's outdoors easier than ever.



North Carolina Recreation & Park Association

Founded in 1944, the North Carolina Recreation & Park Association is the premier nonprofit education and advocacy organization, dedicated to the advancement of the park, recreation and leisure professions in the state. NCRPA empowers park and recreation professionals and citizen board members through educational opportunities that enhance their ability to change lives and impact communities on a daily basis for the citizens of North Carolina.
