Welcome from State Parks

We're offering a personal challenge for our friends who love state parks and the outdoors and all North Carolinians looking for a novel way to celebrate the protection and development of our state parks: the 100-Mile Challenge to hike, walk, run, bike or paddle 100 miles on our trails and waterways. Complete the challenge and earn a special commemorative pin; all the details on how to participate are right here.

Throughout the year, we offer programs for everyone to enjoy our state parks, each one distinctive to that park or region. We also created a North Carolina State Parks Passport to encourage everyone to visit as many state parks as possible to collect commemorative stamps. The 100-Mile Challenge is yet another unique way to promote health and wellness in our state parks.

So, join us for the 100-Mile Challenge and get ready for hiking, biking, walking, running, and paddling in the great outdoors of North Carolina's state parks.
